We use an Instant Dry Canvas WR 350 Satin - 350 g/m² which is a single side satin coated Artistic Canvas with a pronounced fabric. It has excellent colour-brilliance and with a bleached backside to give an extra noble touch.
It is especially suitable for giclee picture presentations of full colour graphics, reproductions of art and photos. Due to the presence of natural cotton in the base material, the surface characteristic may vary slightly.
When printed we apply two coats of lacquer to canvas prints to provide better water protection, scratch resistance and long term quality.
You can choose to have canvas prints rolled or framed stretched - a box canvas print.
Rolled Canvas Prints
We print the image directly on to the canvas, lacquer the surface and then, when perfectly dry, roll the print and place it in a strong cardboard tube for shipping. Rolled canvas prints are shipped with a 70mm white space around the image to enable you to have it stretched in your own time.
Stretched – Box Canvas Prints
We print the image on to the canvas then lacquer the surface. The canvas print is then carefully stretched over a custom-made wooden frame to create a box canvas ready for you to hang. The image is not wrapped around the edge of the frame; we use a sufficient margin to enable the whole image to be seen on the front and leave a white canvas colour around the edge.
For box canvas print frames up to sizes A2 (420 x 594mm, 16.5' x 23.4') we use 22 mm stretcher bars; for sizes A1 (594 x 841mm/ 23.4' x 33') and above we incorporate a central crossbar to maintain long term structural integrity. Each frame includes expansion wedges at interior corners so that the frame can always be gently re-stretched to keep the canvas taut. In all cases we use warp-resistant wood to make the frames.
The largest standard framed stretched canvas print we produce is AO (841 x 1189mm/ 33' x 46.8'). Please contact us if you have any special requirements.
